The e-cigarette, what is that and how does it work? We are happy to explain it in this article.
An electronic cigarette is a device that is used as an alternative for a traditional cigarette. An e-cigarette ensures that e-liquid is converted into an aerosol (vapour) which can be inhaled by the user. In this way, the use of a normal cigarette is simulated, but no harmful combustion takes place.
There are many e-cigarettes on the market in various types and sizes. Almost every e-cigarette works in the same way and consists of three parts: the battery, the clearomizer (tank) and the coil (atomizer / evaporator).
The battery
We recognize different types of batteries with the e-cigarette. For example, there are pen models with only a fire button on it, but there are also box mods where the battery has a display with a menu and various functions. In addition, there are batteries with different capacities. The capacity is expressed in mAh (milliamps). The more normal cigarettes you smoke, the bigger your battery should theoretically be. For example, someone who smokes 10 cigarettes a day should be able to handle a 900mAh battery. Someone who smokes more than 20 cigarettes a day, on the other hand, must soon expect a battery of 1500 mAh or more.
We deliver e-cigarettes with rechargeable batteries and non rechargable batteries. Just like for example your smartphone or tablet, the batteries can be charged with USB charging cables. Depending on the type of e-cigarette you have, you will need an eGo, USB-C or Micro-USB charging cable. All our USB charging cables can be used on your computer or via a power adapter in the wall socket.
The clearomizer
The clearomizer is a refillable tank that is mounted on your battery and which you can fill with e-liquid. In the clearomizer is the so-called coil, also called atomizer. Clearomizers come in various designs, varying in dimensions, vape properties and colours. Clearomizers always have a specific connection type. For example, an eGo clearomizer will not fit on a battery that has a 510 connection (although there are adapters for that).
The coil
The coil is the evaporation element of your e-cigarette. The coil consists of a wound filament in which a piece of cotton or other material is placed. As soon as you fill your clearomizer with e-liquid, the wick material in the coil will suck up the liquid. When you press the fire button on your e-cigarette, power is delivered to the coil, which starts glowing. Due to the heat of the glowing spiral, the liquid in the wick eventually evaporates and voila, we have vapour!
Just like clearomizers, coils come in different shapes and sizes and with different resistances. For example, a coil with a resistance of 1.8 Ohm produces less vapor than a coil with a resistance of 0.5 Ohm. This has everything to do with the thickness of the filament used, and the number of wrappers that make up the coil. By constantly heating a coil, it wears out. We recommend, depending on your vaping habits, to replace your coil once every 1 to 3 weeks. As soon as your vapour starts to taste bad, or the vapour production goes down, it's time to replace your coil.
Finally
As mentioned earlier, there are different types of coils on the market. You need a specific coil depending on your type of clearomizer. Coils are also generally brand bound. On our website you will find a complete list on the product page of each coil for which clearomizers and for which brands the coil is suitable. Are you still not sure?
